How AI assistants find practitioners
ViaClara publishes a public API that AI tools can query in real time. When a family asks an AI assistant for a recommendation, the assistant can query ViaClara's directory of Pro and Business Builder practitioners who have AI visibility turned on (the default), and returns results based on profession, location, availability, NDIS status, and language. Results are ranked - practitioners with current availability, complete profiles, and confirmed neuroaffirming commitment appear higher. The AI assistant links families directly to the practitioner's ViaClara profile.
All practitioners on ViaClara have committed to neuroaffirming practice. The API surfaces this commitment - and elevates practitioners whose approach has been confirmed by families on the platform.
For developers
ViaClara's API is free, public, and read-only. No API key required. Every endpoint below only returns approved practitioners on the Pro or Business Builder plan who haven't turned off AI visibility in their account settings - Pay As You Go and opted-out profiles are excluded everywhere, including /meta's filter values.

GET /practitioners?profession=Speech+Pathologist&state=NSW&availability=AVAILABLE_NOW&ndis=true/practitioners/:idReturns a ViaClara profile ID and link, plus name, profession, practice name, suburb, state, delivery mode, availability, NDIS registration, accepting-new-patients status, areas of expertise, populations served, languages spoken, neuroaffirming verification (family-confirmed only — self-attested status isn't shown via the API), intro-call availability, bio, work experience, education, professional credentials, and memberships. Every response also includes a disclosureNotice field naming which of those are self-reported by the practitioner rather than verified by ViaClara. Never included: email, phone number, exact location, website, social links, video, or any messaging/engagement data. Availability is self-reported by the practitioner and not verified by ViaClara — the API returns it as a raw status without the "may be out of date" indicator shown on viaclara.com.au.
